Manchester Youth Culture Exchange Ambassadors
曼城青少年文化大使

Here at our Centre we have been bringing a group of youths from different high schools to represent Manchester in the cultural exchange event in China. They have also been involved in introducing English and British culture at Universities, community and schools in China. We are developing a Youth Ambassador Foundation so more young volunteers can be involve with China as culture exchange ambassador, learning Chinese language or teaching English to children in the deprived areas of China. We would like to extend our community charity work internationally.

Summer 2008, Chinese Youth Ambassadors visited Manchester City. Manchester Grammar School for Boys, Manchester Academy and schools from Greater Manchester were working together to welcome the Chinese youths at the airport. They formed British Culture workshops at MGS. More information sees Manchester Youth Ambassadors and Youth Foundation (曼城青少年基金).

Youth Book
青少年出版書

Through our exciting Youth Culture Exchange Project our youths produced a book called Manchester Youth Ambassador – Journey to the East. 曼城华人之家- 青少年文化大使东游行记 出版

This book provides a part of the story about the Manchester Youth Ambassadors' trip to Beijing and Wuhan cities. They were involved in exploring the history, geography, culture and the essential charter of China. Personal reflections and diary entries stand alongside their historical and cultural analysis: here readers will find a fascinating and compelling account of the tremendous challenge facing those who begin the journey of understanding another world. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we have and that our experiences in Modern China will intrigue and inspire you!

This book is funded by the Bog Boost and Manchester Chinese centre. It is available for mainstream schools; required £2.50 for postage and packaging cost.

Achievement 成就
The great thing about Youth Ambassadors is that life is filled with possibilities: what will they become? What can they do to change things? What kind of a life can they build for themselves or Manchester and China? The dreams of youth Ambassadors carry life forward, and also shape the future of both British and Chinese societies.
