Refugee Day Workshop at Our Stall 24th June 2006

A unique celebration of arts and culture by our group held at Hulme Park, Manchester. We have two stalls with interactive workshops; music and dance and children’s activities. Our Centre has joined the multi-cultures celebrate with three stage production programmes.

The youngsters spent up to a week on paper folding. They have really enjoyed taking and being part of the project – it has given them something to focus on after their school exams. All the bright coloured paper birds hung around the stand. It had created a wonderful, exciting and outstanding theme to the stall. Parents have also become strongly involved in the stand, teaching art of paper folding. This project is a clear demonstration of Manchester Chinese Centre’s work efforts towards our closely related local neighbourhood and we support young people that get involved with charity work. Thsi gives young people a sense of achievement and belonging. It’s all about getting young people to believe they can make a difference in their own lives and in their own communities.

Worthwhile projects
Highly enjoyable and brilliant Fan Dances performed by our “over 40’s group”. They have inspired and encouraged healthier lifestyles.

Special Occasion
Our members are helping out in our stand. They are enjoying the infectious rhythms under the hot summer day and in support of the Refuge Day. We always support our local community, voluntary groups and improve life in our neighbourhood.
