Our Chinese Dance group has been established since 1998 and we are growing stronger every year. We give stage productions and provide performances both on special Chinese occasions and local events. We also join with other community groups to celebrate individual and collective identities. We like to take pride in our achievements and foster activities in such aspects of Chinese culture as Chinese Art, Calligraphy and Dance .
華人之家的綜藝坊己成立多年,從街頭到劇院演出無數次,多姿多釆的匯演,帶給我們無限歡欣與自豪。我們不但把推廣中華文化為己任;還參與主流社會各族的文化交流活動。
Art 綜藝
Art is an important element to Chinese culture; it also plays a key part to the structure of the Chinese communities in Britain as well as at our Centre. This allows the local community to acknowledge and understand Chinese culture as well as create awareness. Art can also stimulate curiosity and interest amongst Chinese born and local children, whilst allowing them to have fun and developing their own creativity. This can include Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Paintings and other paper crafts such as paper folding and lantern making.
Dance 舞蹈
Dance is the language of the body, everyone can enjoy dancing and it doesn't need any verbal communication. This has an important role in Chinese society, letting others get a taste of our culture as well as allowing Chinese people to learn more and reminisce about China. At our Centre, Chinese folk, classical and modern dancing lessons are available for both adults and children, so everyone can get an insight of the lives of the Chinese people, their attitudes and aspirations. Please see Adult Dance and Children Dance for more information.
Music 音樂
Music is important to any community; and it affects everyone in one way or another, it can be used to express feelings, attitudes and emotions without the language boundaries that other forms of communication can entail. This allows other people to get involved easily and learn about culture whilst still being able to enjoy themselves. Here music lessons are available for the Piano and Gu Zheng, (an ancient Chinese string instrument that connotes heavenly sounds). For more information see Chinese music instrument.
Manchester International Music Festival 國際音樂節
We combined our Chinese performing art skills with Music, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, children and adult dancers. It was very successful and exciting performing and creating our own part of the project for our members. More information please sees our Monkey: Journey to the West西遊記project.
