Chinese Educational Workshops 中国教育工作坊

We have carefully designed the way we manage and monitor our staff so that we focus on Chinese culture and art and overcome language barriers. Our workshops are organised and dedicated to producing inspiring creative solutions to these problems, which are designed to meet any school’s individual needed.

Chinese Folk Dance

This lesson is based on the traditional folk dancing, movement, skills and music. Students can also gain a historical and geographical insight into Chinese culture from the dance classes. Dance classes are available in Classic Chinese Dance, Ribbon Dance, Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Fan Dance.

 

Tai Chi for Health

This lesson is based on the Chinese traditional Tai Chi. The participants will learn the ancient movement skills, Tai Chi, health and music. As well as gaining historical and geographical insights and knowledge about Chinese culture from the class.

 

Chinese Calligraphy

This lesson introduces Chinese calligraphy and enables students to develop or enhance their knowledge of Chinese language characters and their origins. The lessons are proven to help the students concentrate better and relax more in class. Classes in story telling are also available as well as calligraphy.

 

Paper Folding

This lesson introduces the art of paper craft. Student of all ages can enjoy making almost anything with just a single piece of paper. Course participants will also gain an insight into the Chinese culture.

 

Lantern Making

This lesson introduces the history and art of lantern making. Children learn the symbolic meaning of hope, light, celebration, happiness, birth and the deceased. Course participants will also gain an insight into the Chinese culture.

 

Chinese Cultural Study

This lesson introduces the Chinese culture through art and paper craft. It also will help the participants to develop folk art skills. It is very colourful and exciting for all ages. Group activities include role-play.

 

Kite Making Craft

The history of Chinese kite-making spans more than 2300 years. Making Chinese kites and flying them is recreational for the school class and the whole family. The Kite Making course is an art and science project and is very exciting to all ages.

 

Lion Dance

This lesson works on the traditional Martial Art movements and folk music. Students will also gain history and geography insights from the Dance Workshop.

The Lion and Dragon Set are available to hire. Both Lion Dance and Dragon Dance workshops require between fifteen to twenty children to run.

 

Dragon Dance

This lesson is an introduction to the history of the Chinese Dragon, it’s warm up exercises, and the skills in the movements of its performance. The children will also learn the traditional symbolism and the historical roles of dragons demonstrating power and dignity. The dragon dance is one of the highlights of Chinese New Year celebrations.

 

Chinese Musical Instruments

This lesson improves students’ knowledge of Chinese music based on the five musical elements and helps students to relax and release stress through the playing of music. It is also a cultural introduction because Chinese music is influenced by Buddhist teachings.

 

Fun of Chinese Language

This lesson introduces the Chinese language, pinyin and Chinese IT skills. Course participants will also gain an insight into the Chinese culture. We can offer weekly Chinese lessons from beginner’s to A Level.

 

Chinese Numeracy

This lesson introduces Chinese numeracy with the written skills and fascinating background story for each Chinese number.
Group activities include: date of birth and sign language in numeracy.
